The thing about big websites — big corporations and their websites — is that everyone sees how they could be better. But updating them can easily throw off the lowest common¬†denominator. And many web designers would have a field day if they got to redesign the Amazons or IMDbs of the world. But they’re halted by… well… nothing really.

Many web designers pad their portfolios with redesigns of the big sites, and some of those redesigns are so good they have the rest of us wondering why the designer hasn’t been picked up and their design implemented.
